Mr. Usen Effiong was appointed as an Executive Director of the Bank in May 2022.
He currently oversees the Corporate Services and Commercial Directorate. His responsibilities include supervising the operations of the Management Services Division (Human Resources, Security, and Administration & Procurement Departments) and the Bank’s Subsidiaries.
Before joining the Bank, Mr. Usen Effiong served as Deputy Director in the Branch Operations Department of the Central Bank of Nigeria, overseeing the Service Delivery Division.
Mr. Effiong has over thirty-two (32) years of work experience in the Central Bank of Nigeria, 20 of which were in core HR functions such as Performance Management, Workforce Planning, Talent Management, Change Management, Continuous Improvement, and HR Transformation.
He led the team in successfully implementing the Automation of the Promotion Examination process at the Central Bank of Nigeria. In 2003, he was the Best Staff member of the Human Resources Department and a member of the Project EAGLES Communication & Culture Change Team.
Mr. Usen Effiong is passionate about creating value for business and enabling a dynamic and customer-focused work environment.
He holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Agricultural Economics from the University of Calabar and a master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan. He is an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), a Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), a Certified Talent Acquisition Professional (CTAP), and a Strategic Workforce Planner of the Human Capital Institute (SWP).
